Card No. 2

Good afternoon, hope ya'll are having a great day. All is fine here. Snow is melting some. I think by the weekend, it will be gone.
Then I'll have to wait for more. I love snow but not the ice. So if you are travelin, stay safe. If not, stay warm.

Todays card, I wanted to use some thing I hadn't used in awhile...Basic Gray. I love this color. I also used Rose Red and Whisper White. This card meets the Wednesday Sketch challenge over at SCS, I just haven't posted over there yet.
So easy to make and I love the colors and crispness. Also used my new stamp set Eastern Blooms and the sentiment is out of One of a Kind stamp set. The flowers were made using the Trio Flower Punch. To make them stand out, I put the end of a pen in the center and "curled" the petals up, and then finished them off with half pearl stickers.

That's it for today. Hope you have a good evening.
Keep Stampin,
Lois

Card No. 1

Good afternoon! Bright sunny day today, but we still have snow and ice on the ground. Not too bad where I live, but other places have way more snow. It just about blinds a person to look outside. The furbabies have been out playing in the snow and having fun.
Today, I said, I'm going to make at least 1 card or 2 cards a day for the next 10 days. So here is the first one, that I found on SCS that I really liked. Can't remember whos it was but, I used Natures Silhouettes, Close as a Memory and Insired by Nature. I also used Versamark, Craft Chocolate Chip, Creamy Carmel and Not Quite Navy inks. The cardstock is Kraft, Chocolate Chip and Not Quite Navy. Finished off with a antique very large eyelet, Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon with a little pc of linen thread. One never knows when they need a Sympathy card, and so now I'll have a couple of them on hand.
You ask....humm is this part of SAS on Feb. 7, well maybe and maybe not. You'll have to attend on Feb 7, 2PM at Arbys in Carthage to find out.
This is it for today. Stay warm and most of all stay safe. Vicki no more fallen on your hinney. Glad you are ok though.
Keep stampin,
Lois

Haircut Day

Remember me? Well here's what I look like when you shave all my baby hair off. ain't I cute???
Brr but it's cold when mom makes me and Dolly outside. But I'll get use to it or she can put a coat on me.
Wow it's really nasty out. But my truckdriver is home and he gets me where I wanta go. For those of you that think I need to stay home....:)~~~~~~~~~~~~~ my honey will take me. And that is me sticking my tongue out at you. There are things we have to do and then there are things that can wait. But today wasn't the day we needed to stay home. We had several things to do. And we made it home safe and sound. Yes, it might of took us a little longer than normal, but we are home, nonetheless.
This is all for now. Just had to share Miss Gidgets latest hairdo. Stay safe and warm. Great day/nite to stamp!

Sneek Peeks

Hope ya'll are having a good day. It's beautiful out today, but I understand it won't last long. We are expecting some snow and ice this weekend. So stay safe if you are traveling and stay warm.

Todays photos are of the projects I have planned for stamp camp. This 1st one is a tile coaster. I used versa mark to stamp on Inspired by Nature (item # 111656), it's not featured in the 2009 Spring and Summer catty, but it's still available to order from the domant list. Ask your demostrator about ordering this great set. After stamping versamark, I then used chalks to color it in. Then sprayed with a matt sealant. Also used some gold leaf rub and buff and put a piece of cork for the backing. You can make these in any color to match your decor. Fun easy and very quick to make. Also makes a great gift.

This next project is a cute little "magazine" holder, but it holds 3x3 gift cards. So I guess that makes this a "card" holder. Anyways, it's easy and fun to make. I used SU Pacfic Point to make the holder. Cuttled the "belly band" and added flowers using SU Birds and Blooms die (item # 113485). Stamps used for the gift cards were Pocket Silhouettes and On Your Birthday . Punches used were the SU Scalloped Square and Scalloped Border. And MS lace punch.
These are very easy to make. Would make a great gift in different colors.

Rounding out this last of the projects. The card information is on an earlier post.
We'll be adding to that a clip for a photo and a Nugget Tin filled with Chocolate wrapped in SU Candy Lane DSP.
This would be a great little gift for that someone special on Valentines morning.
I hope you all will like what I have planned. They were fun to make.
This is all for today. Have a great day. Be safe, warm and remember to keep on stampin.

New Stuff

Hope you are all doing well and stayin warm on this blistering cold day. BRRRR good day to stay in and stamp.
I got new stamps yesterday. Love You Bunches.
It's a very cute set. If you haven't gotten yours, call you nearest coolest demo and she'll get it ordered for you. It's on sale for $41.48, that's 20% off normal price. That's a great savings of $10.37. Get yours at the lowest price in the new catalog by January 31, 09 and take advantage of the savings.
I just love this set. This is a very simple easy peesy card. I used PTI Sweet Blush for the card base. The DSP is the new pattern paper Candy Lane. It's all so pretty. Matted the pp with SU Riding Hood Red. Paper pieced the birds also with the Candy Lane DSP. I used "For you with Love" from the retired set Riveting. Popped it up on Riding Hood Red and Sweet Blush. The hearts are punched out from the punch that comes with the Love You Bunches bundle. Tied it up with the Riding Hodd Red stripped ribbon. Everything is stamped with Black Stazon. Took about 10 mins to make. Very simple cute card.
That's it for today. Hope ya'll stay warm, remember to keep stampin. See you later.
Thanks for stoppin by.

MIA for a few days

Sorry (again) that I have been MIA, life just gets in the way. But hopefully things will/are better now.
These cards were made for SAS that we had last week. The first card is using Fresh Cuts. Along with the Fresh Cuts permade card, using Regal Rose and Certainly Celery. The flower was made by using the 5 petal flower and spring flower bouquet (retired). Very simple card.
The next card I wanted to feature the new yummy DSP Raspberry Tart. I also used the level 2 hostess stamp set A Little Something. Colors for this card are, Cameo Coral, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White. Ink is Riding Hood Red and Cameo Coral. I also used the Top Note Sizzix Big Diez and the circle scalloped punch, along with some white ribbon. Finished it with 3 brads in the top left corner.
These 2 cards round out the SAS we had. If you missed the event, hopefully you will be able to join us for the next one,
AHHHH new catties are here. Some really neat new exciting things. INCLUDING a new EYELET border, Martha Stewart better watch out, SU is on her heels (LOL). Some nice yummy DSP and ohhhh the new dies are to die for. Can't wait for ya'll to see the new catty.
See ya'll soon, til then, happy stampin. (and stay warm)

Valentine Card

Can you believe Valentines Day is just around the corner? Seems like Christmas was just yesterday.

This card is just like the Baja Breeze card, only in Riding Hood Red and Very Vanilla. I just love this card. There aren't too many cards I say that I love, especially the ones I make. But this one, I just keep looking at it.

If you like/love this card, you will find the supplies to use it at my next SAS on Jan 10. You'll get to make one of your own.

Well, I got some stampin goodies today, so I'm off to play. Maybe I'll have something "pretty" tomorrow for ya all to see.

Enjoy your evening, stay warm and keep stampin,
Lois

ShoeBox Swap Workshop

On Saturday Jan 3, 09, we had a Shoebox Swap Workshop. We all had a blast. Each person brought a shoebox filled with enough supplies for each person to make a card. We had quite the variety, from Swell News to Birthday.

From the left back....Snappy Birthday was designed by Amber, she used Crab & Company. Thinking of You was designed by Debbie, she used Pocket Silhouettes. Next Reina used On the Fly and Lois used A Light unto My Path. On the bottom (laying flat) on the left Carol used Friendship Blooms and last but not least Tiffiny, she used Swell News. Each card was different and just awesome.

A great time was had by all.

Hope you are having a great day. Until tomorrow,
Happy Stampin,
Lois

Happy Birthday Cupcake.......

Good Saturday morning. Another beautiful day in SW MO. Little breezy but nice out. Hope you are having a great Saturday so far.

Well as you can tell.....I didn't get Elvis inked up last night. This card is for a customer who needed a birthday card for her sister. I thought this card was perfect and it was fun and easy to do.

I used Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set from SU. The other supplies I used are PaperTrey White, SU Bella Rose DSP and Pink Prouette card stock. The ribbon is SU Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon.
I also used Robins Nest Dew Drops, Clear Glitter on the "frosting", Cystal Effects on the "cherry on top" and some popdots. For the coloring of the cupcakes I used Watercolor Crayons. Note to self: Use those more...the are so easy to work with and the result is really nice. I'm sure that you might have seen something like this on SCS, where would we be without all that inspiration on SCS. But this is a case, but not a direct case. I left off some ribbon that the orginal artist had on her card.

You might attend your next SAS event if you like/love this card, it might be in a box coming your way for you to create your own.

This is all for today. Hope you all have a great wonderful weekend. Til tomorrow.........
Keep Stampin,

Lois

Happy New Year 2009

Good Afternoon everyone. I hope you had a safe and sound New Years. Any resolutions made yet? I've made a couple. I want to lose some weight and I am going to get better at sending cards out and get better with updating my blog on a more daily basis. So we'll see which resolution I keep better.

The weather is awesome here in SW MO. It's about 70 today. But we are looking at a cold front coming in late Saturday...ugh! I'm lovin' these nice days, yes I love snow, but I'm not lovin' the electric bill. I don't get a bail out check...LOL so gotta pay it.

Speaking of cards? Did ya see this one? Well, my good friend Vicki, made one similar to this. You can see it at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1158983?cat=500&ppuser=81814 and also on her blog http://itsastampthing-vicki.blogspot.com/

Supplies used are: Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Urban Garden DSP, Baja Breeze stripped ribbon, Cuttlebug with the Heart Block folder, Cricut Alphalious cartiridge for the envelope, popdots, and Baja Breeze ink and 1/2 pearls. It looks so much better IRL. Watch for this card, it may show up at a Stamp A Stack near you very soon . What I love about this card, you can use it for Valentine's Day, a wedding or anniversary card. It just depends on what you need it for and what you put inside.

Well that's it for today. Got some Elvis mail today, so I'm going to be stampin me some Elvis. And as you have seen on Vicki's blog, she is still stampin Elvis. I just hope that there is still some images to stamp out on him when he returns home. Maybe I need to play that song..."Return to Sender" address NOT unknown. LOL

Happy Stampin,

Lois
