SCS Christmas Card Challenge 2009

Good Monday Morning...clear skies, windy and a little chilly here in SW MO. Hope ya'll had a great weekend.

Over at SCS, they have challenges. And for 2009 I'm going to challenge myself to 12 cards a month, then when it comes time to send out cards....just address, stamp and send. I'll be done. So I'm going to show you this one for January 2009. I used PaperTrey White, SU Pacific Point cardstock, Pacific Point Ink along with my Cuttlebug and folders and a Snowflake Die. The sentiment is from Verves' stamp set Poinsettia Christmas. and of course I used my score pal. I hope the receiver's will enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them. They were easy, fast and fun to put together. The little touch of the silver rhinestone stickers adds a great touch to the card. I really like this card. Hope you do too.
Another project I'd like to share with you today is the Vellum Wine Glass Votive Shade. Very easy to do. All you will need is an empty wine glass, shade pattern, vellum and your favorite stamps. I added some lace on the bottom.

On mine I used the Flight of the Butterfly stamps and craft ink. Very easy. This will be a workshop project in the very near future. I hope you will like it. It looks neat at night when the flame less flame is on.
This is all for today. Hope you have a great day. Happy Stampin,
Lois

AAHHHHH ain't she sweet????

Ain't she cute???? We are so in love with her. She's somewhere in the 4-6 mo range. The owners of the mobile home park here where we live, had a tenant that said she had found her about a week ago, but couldn't keep her, so she took the pup down to them and they called us tonight and we went down to take a look at here, and instantly fell in love with her. They said if we wanted her, she's ours, no charge. and they said Merry Christmas. WOW!! She seems to be housebroken, we have taken her outside and she follows us out the door, potties and comes back in. She doesn't like the kennel, but oh well, untill she is older and I can trust that she is housebroken, she'll be in the kennel at night anyways. Miss Dolly didn't like the idea of another "person" in her space, but they have been playin together really good. I think they both will adapt well. OK off I go to take her outside. No we haven't figured out a name yet.

Merry Christmas Eve,

Lois

Santa Claus is coming.....

Good chilly morning to ya. And boy is it cold and windy. Good time to stay in and stamp, make those last minute gifts. Today I'm sharing my bag in the box projects. They are very fun to make and very simple and fast. You can find them at SCS. Everyone is different but using the same pattern. For the Mr and Mrs Santa, I used Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Basic Black and Bella Rose PP, silver and SU ribbons. Along with circle and tab punches. The single one is made of Riding Hood Red DSP along with some Riding Hood Red. White gel pen and SU retired ribbon. The punches used were the scalloped punch and the tab punches. The felt snowflakes are from the holiday mini, a brad and rhinestone finishes it off.
Everyone have a great day, stay safe and warm.

Elvis is in the building

Ahhh only if he were in the building. I can still here him singing and at the same here the breaking news that Elvis has died. But his music lives on and so will he for years to come.
I have alot of Elvis stamps. A customer needed some Elvis Birthday cards, so here it is. I used Black Stazon, SU black grosgrain ribbon, SU basic black, whisper white and brushed gold for the cardstock and the Elvis stamps are from Cornish Hertiage Farms and SU It's Your Birthday.
She loved the cards. I'll be doing some more Elvis cards in 09.
I hope everyone is having a safe shopping day or a fun stampin day. Stay warm.

Here fishy fishy.....

Here is a card I made Wednesday for a customer. The stamped image I had recieved in WRAK on SCS. I just love this little guy. I did forget to put some google eyes on him. I used some Basic Gray paper for the backgrond using my bubbles Cuttlebug folder. That is a real hook on the bobber too. I used my Sizzix ornament die and cut off the top part to make it look like a bobber. Then I thought, well need some "real" bubbles, so I used clear dew drops by Robbins Nest to make the "bubbles". So there ya have it. I made 3 cards like this one. OHHH and I used some linen thread on the hook. and I popdotted the bobber up.
Have a great night....more tomorrow.

I used SU Top Note Die, Cuttlebug fold Snow Dots and Ice Crystals die/folder. Glitter, Coaster (for snowflake), 1/2 Silver Pearls, White Paper Sack (3 1/2 x 2 x 6 3/4) I had to cut most of it off...Organdy ribbon and Silver Cording. This is really fun to make, I'm going to make more but for birthdays, holidays, just because.
The snowman stamp I found at HL...the last one, my friend Vicki had sent her dd to get 2 of them before I got there, as one of them was for me. I'm going to give another friend the stamp. Wacky Stampers Christmas Party

Can you say PARTY...that we did. Giggle, eat, laugh, eat, giggle, eat....well you get the picture. We did that for 3 hrs. What a fun time we had. Here we are..from the left, Debbie, Lois, Frances, Carol, Tiffany, Amber, Vicki and Anita. The photo is a little dark, but the only one we are ALL smiling. For those of you who couldn't join us for several reasons...YOU WE'RE MISSED.

We also had our annual Christmas Card exchange. WOW WOW WOW..is all I can say about the talent of this group. The talent of each one has grown over the last few years that we have been doing this. There was also some hand crafted gifts for each person.
So, until the next Christmas party......have a Very Merry Christmas and Happy and Safe New Year.
Happy Stampin,
Lois
